Blonde Hair Blue Eyes, by Karin Slaughter ($1.99 Kindle/$3.99 paperback)
Summary of Blonde Hair Blue Eyes
A beautiful young girl was walking down the street―when suddenly…
Julia Carroll knows that too many stories start that way. Beautiful, intelligent, a nineteen-year-old college freshman, she should be carefree. But instead she is frightened. Because girls are disappearing.
A fellow student, Beatrice Oliver, is missing. A homeless woman called Mona-No-Name is missing. Both taken off the street. Both gone without a trace.
Julia is determined to find out the reasons behind their disappearances. And she doesn’t want to be next…
Michael Connelly calls Karin Slaughter “unrivaled among thriller writers.” This gripping, unforgettable short story proves why.
My review of Blonde Hair Blue Eyes
Why, why, why is this a short story? Argh!!! Blonde Hair Blue Eyes is — like the last Karin Slaughter book I read — amazing. The fact that it serves as a prequel to her soon-to-be-released Pretty Girls means one thing — I have to buy Pretty Girls. Immediately.
I mistakenly started reading Blonde Hair Blue Eyes having forgotten that it was a short story. When I reached the end, oof, was I disappointed that it was over. What a bummer! Everything about this book is fabulous — the story line, the characters, the writing, the pace, the ending, you name it. I couldn’t put it down — true story.
Karin Slaughter has done it again…if you don’t know about her yet, do yourself a favor and sample her writing with this short story. You won’t be disappointed. In fact, you’ll probably winding up reading all her books. Join the club!
