Fridays with Frank: A Walk in the (Dog) Park

Two things happened this week that are pretty awesome.

Frank at the Dog Park

One, we went to the dog park. It was the greatest day ever. I was allowed to run all over and play with a bunch of dogs and I didn’t get yelled at once! Of course, they (the humans) wanted me to do tricks on some obstacle course so they could feel all warm and fuzzy about me. As you can see, I wasn’t all that interested.

If nothing else, it was amusing to see my humans doing the obstacle course to demonstrate what I had to do. No one was able to take pictures of that, of course.

I’d be willing to walk on my hands for a treat. Oh, wait. I already do.

None of the other dogs seemed to be interested in the obstacle course, so I think this was a rookie mistake. I’m not sure, but I do know that my humans get very excited when I do tricks, so it doesn’t hurt to throw them a bone now and then.

I have a touch of social anxiety.

After a few runs through the obstacle course, they decided to cut me some slack and let me play. That went stupendously until all the other dogs decided to surround me and check me out. I think it was like a borderline-hazing. After that happened, I became somewhat punchy and decided to keep to myself. I’m not a big fan of groups.

Sure, Mortimer gets to go outside whenever she wants. What about me?

Oh, yeah. The other awesome thing that happened this week? I turned 6 months old. Woot! Still waiting for a party, although I’d accept any of these dog subscription boxes as a belated birthday gift.

Here’s what I was up to last week.

Hi Frank! My little Bobby also loves a day out in the park! He’s a German Shepherd too and I really get excited on what he can become seeing how you progress every week! Thanks for sharing your little adventures Frank and to Keenly too of course :)
