I was not financially compensated for writing this post. I received a product sample from JORD Wood Watches to facilitate my review. My opinions are 100% honest and 100% mine.

How amazing is that watch? As I fancy myself something of a watch enthusiast, I was pretty excited when I was offered the opportunity to review one of the JORD wood watches.

And, as a watch enthusiast, I was not disappointed in any way. In fact, I was left wanting more. More JORD watches, that is.

Here is a glimpse at my watch drawer:

As you can surmise, I like watches of all styles. One of those watches is a Swatch that I received as a birthday present, in 1985. 1985. I purchased two of them in 1987, when I was 17 and the paycheck from my part-time job was burning a hole in my pocket. Another was a gift in 1991. I have other watches, too, one on my nightstand and another on my dresser, and so on. I like watches, plain and simple.

But when I received my JORD wood watch, it was more than just an addition to my watch collection. It wasn’t just another accessory or piece of jewelry. It was something…different. Unique. Distinctive.

My JORD wood watch is the “Ely” in Cherry. It’s lightweight (as wood tends to be, obviously) but not flimsy or fragile. Here are the specs on the Ely:

  • Hardened, Scratch-proof glass face: 26mm diameter
  • Frame / bezel: 34mm diameter
  • Band width: 21.5mm
  • Lug ends: 40mm
  • Single action locking clasp (stainless steel)
  • Premium Citizen Miyota movement with date window

When I took my JORD watch out of the box, I knew I was holding something special. You just know it, and you treat your watch as such. I love this watch and it has rightfully earned its place as one of my favorite and most cherished watches.

My JORD watch is quite eye-catching and people ask me about it regularly. And I’m more than happy to discuss the awesomeness of JORD with them.

JORD wood watches “tell more than time.” The idea behind JORD (which is Swedish for earth/soil/land) is simple: They create watches from diverse woods all over the world, combining different grains and natural colors to create a collection of watches where each and every one is purely unique. By their very nature (and because of nature), JORD wood watches are truly one of a kind, as these premium timepieces are made with sustainable materials from around the globe.

There is a watch (or, in some cases, several watches) for any style or taste…these are just a sample of what JORD wood watches are available. JORD wood watches are also reasonably priced, especially given their quality and their uniqueness.

Check out this limited edition JORD wood watch:

That’s the Black and Maple 746 Series watch.┬áIt is the first watch that incorporates an automatic and exposed skeleton movement. Made from the finest materials, this watch can be wound by hand and will stay wound with the natural movement of your body, requiring no battery. It also features a hidden butterfly clasp, thereby showing off more than 60 individual pieces of wood that make up the band.

All JORD wood watches are designed to be splash-proof but please note they are not intended for full submersion in water. You should also keep in mind that, because of the nature of the wood chosen for each JORD wood watch, the colors and grain patterns may vary from the photos.
