Let’s Light the Night!
I’ve discussed on multiple occasions my connection (unfortunately) with cancer. Not only did my uncle recently lose a 20+ year battle with cancer, but two of my grandparents survived a fight with cancer, as did my son — when he was two! — and my father passed away in 2008 very shortly after being diagnosed with lung cancer. I’ve also, like many, had friends fight cancer, as well as had friends who succumbed to cancer. As you can imagine, cancer is a big deal for me, and I do my best to support research, education, and awareness campaigns whenever possible. So, when I heard about “Light the Night,” the main fundraising event of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, I was pretty intrigued. And touched.
Light the Night is an hour-long fundraising walk that is held at sunset, with participants holding illuminated balloons in the air, in an effort to…light the night.
Through the Light the Night campaign, the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is able to provide support services to patients, advocate for lifesaving treatments, and help lead the charge for cancer research. The Light the Night walk is quite a heartwarming and breathtaking sight. Take a peek at what Light the Night looks like — and means to the people who participate as well as benefit — and see if it doesn’t give you goosebumps as well…
The event has raised a great deal of money for research and services over the years, which is amazing. Everyone is welcome (and encouraged) to participate in Light the Night, a casual fundraising walk. Light the Night is a success due to the efforts of so many individuals, as well as national partners, such as Burlington Coat Factory, Carter’s, Cisco, Quizno’s, and Red Robin — just to name a handful.

This is a Fashionista Events opportunity.
