Summer is not easy…and regardless of how long kids have been saying “I can’t wait til summer,” it does not take long until they are complaining about being “so bored” because they have “nothing to do.” Movies are always a hit…but going to the movies isn’t terribly easy on the wallet. Just to get through the door, you’re talking upwards of $50 or so, if a handful of people are involved. And forget eating or drinking! That’s out. So, Netflix Families is well worth looking at — literally and figuratively.
We take turns deciding what to watch on family movie nights and, sometimes, we cuddle on the couch or in bed, huddled around my iPad or one of our laptops. It’s pretty much a given that it involves microwave popcorn. But it’s nice being comfortable, being together, and being able to watch the movies we want to watch, streaming right through our tablet or laptop. Or a smartphone! Or a video game console, like a PlayStation, Microsoft Xbox, or Nintendo Wii.
I have two exciting (to me, anyway) things to tell you about Netflix Families. The Netflix Families is available for members and non-members. How cool is that? Second, do you realize that the cost of a year’s Netflix subscription is less than taking a family of five to the movies twice (just the movies — not including drinks and snacks)? Now if that doesn’t help you make a decision, I don’t know what would.
Now, when you visit Netflix Families, you’ll find rows with different categories of movies and shows…which is so user-friendly. For instance, there’s “Family Movie Night,” which includes ParaNorman, A Turtle’s Tale, and The Lorax. Or perhaps “Classics to Share With Your Kids” (one of my favorites!), which includes Family Ties, The Wonder Years, and Goosebumps!
Or maybe you’d prefer “Get Ready for Preschool,” with favorites like Elmo, Barney, and Lalaloopsy. There’s definitely something for everyone. That’s the best part of Netflix Families, for me…everyone’s happy. Can’t do better than that!

You can always count on Netflix to have the best content for family and kids! This would certainly help parents save a little money and delight the entire family with lots of cool options.
We always rent movies, instead of going to the theatre.
Going to the movies is so expensive. I like the idea of movie night in. We used to do it weekly and have homemade pizza. I need to start that back up.
I love Netflix. They have a lot of great movies and shows. We watched Paranorman recently and it was amazing – the comedy, the horror, the animation and the storyline (:
