My niece has been getting her nails painted since she was a wee little thing — and since she’s all of four now, that means she’s sported nail polish for a long time. And, quite possibly, a dangerously long time. That’s why I was more than happy to review Piggy Paint Nail Polish.

Unlike traditional nail polish, which is solvent-based (ick!) and laden with chemicals (double ick!), Piggy Paint Nail Polish is water-based, non-toxic, and eco-friendly! Hard to argue with that, am I right?

I love this color — Forever Fancy! And there are tons more to choose from, like Hypnotize (a Deep, Shimmery Dark Teal) and Dragon Tears (a Light Green Pearl).

Plus, did I mention that Piggy Paint Nail Polish is hypo-allergenic and made in the USA? It is! Anywho, when we received this delightful assortment, my niece was quite anxious to try them out…

It took all of about four minutes for her to decide on a color scheme and boom! She couldn’t wait to show off her newly painted nails:

It’s so good to know that Piggy Paint is not just fun and pretty…but it’s not dangerous for the little ones in your life! To give you an idea of how dangerous traditional paint can be, the genius behind Piggy Paint, Melanie Hurley, decided that she needed to find a safer alternative after an accident while painting her daughters’ nails. A drop of nail polish landed on the foam plate they were using to work over and later she noticed the nail polish had “eaten” through the plate! Well, that was the moment Hurley decided that “any flammable substance that could cause foam to disintegrate was unacceptable for children’s fingernails.”

And thus Piggy Paint Nail Polish was born! They contain natural ingredients and NO formaldehyde, toluene (ick!), phthalates, bisphenol A (BPA), ethyl acetate, or acetone.
