I’m pretty sure that there is no one out there who merely puts a pen to paper (wait…does anyone do that anymore?) and produces something that reads like a Steven King novel (other than Steven King). Writing is work. Writing well is hard work. But we can all write better. The real challenge is learning how to write better.

It can be done. But it takes effort and dedication and time. (It also takes a little talent, but I digress.) Allow Brian Clark (of Copyblogger) to lay out the steps to learning how to write better.

    I think I will become a better writer if someone reminds me of all the rules of writing that I learned back in Middle School and High School. Volunteers?? Copy Editors??
