I would have the author Edna Ferber for dinner because I have always admired her books and have heard she was a great wit and conversationalist.

My mother. She died when she was only 47 in 1971. She missed all but one of her 6 children getting married and all of her grandchildren. I was overseas and missed the last 3 years of her life, arriving home just 3 weeks before she died. We were adult friends when I left and I am so sorry we both missed what the future could have graced us both with.

I would choose my Uncle Charley, who actually passed away years ago and I never had the chance to meet. I have heard lots of wonderful things about him.
