How delightfully decadent does Fashion: The Definitive History of Costume and Style look? Doesn’t that just make you want to jump out of your jammies and into a breathtaking guide tracing over the 3,000-year evolution of costume and style by Smithsonian and DK Publishing. Fashion is this season’s must-have item for fashionistas and will add splendor and style to anyone’s bookshelf — or coffee table.

Fashion: The Definitive History of Costume and Style is filled with more than 1,500 costumes from all over the world and illustrated with a stunning mix of original fashion plates, archived images, and commissioned photography. Fashion is breathtaking in its scope. Photographic spreads of gorgeous classic pieces, from a Victorian bustle gown to a Thierry Mugler power suit, spotlight the fascinating details that make up a masterpiece. Features on renowned trendsetters and designers, such as Elizabeth I, Marie Antoinette, Twiggy and Alexander McQueen, describe how these inspirational fashion icons have influenced the clothes we wear today.

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Fashionista Events hosted by Still Blonde after all these Years and ModlyChic for Fashion: The Definitive History of Costume and Style. I received a product and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. Fashionista Event bloggers are not responsible for sponsor prize fulfillment.

I got to see just a little bit of this book and I would love to win it for me but would probably give it to my mom since they actually have a coffee table and I don\’t so the book would be enjoyed more there.
