This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Wonder bread for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Old school white bread, move over.

Wonder bread has a new product on the shelf: Smartwhite for Kids.

"Wonder Smartwhite for Kids"

This new Wonder bread — which hit shelves this summer — provides more nutrition than your average white bread. Wonder Smartwhite for Kids contains no high fructose corn syrup. What it does have is only 50 calories per slice, the same fiber that you’ll find in 100% whole wheat bread, and the same calcium as an 8-ounce glass of milk. In addition, it is a good source of nine essential vitamins and minerals. Each serving of Wonder (two slices) also has 5 grams of protein!

While Wonder Smartwhite for Kids is, obviously, great for kids…it’s just as great for adults! Since I had to make a sandwich that was worthy of photographing and writing about, I decided to go out on a limb and try something I had never tried before.

A Toasted Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich with Honey.

I used reduced fat, natural peanut butter (my new kick), one banana, and honey (to your preference). While two slices of Wonder bread (which, might I add, has a great consistency) were in the toaster, I cut the banana into thin slices.

Two thin (but not too thin!) coatings of peanut butter on each slice, and then strategic placement of the banana slices so that they covered the entire slice of bread.

Then, a nice drizzle of honey…not too much so that it’s oozing out of the sandwich but just enough so that it adds a nice flavor. Press down gently so the peanut butter on the lid adheres to the base…and, voila. I have myself a Toasted Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich with Honey.

Yum.

I was only going to take a bite in order to get a taste but it was so good, I kept munching away.

Wonder bread has been on grocer’s shelves for almost a century, and they currently have more than 20 different varieties of bread products! Check out Wonder bread on Facebook — and try your hand at creating your own custom sandwich using their The Sandwich Wonder-izer! You’ll be able to check out the nutritional information and share your creation on your social media networks. Show everyone what you (and your sandwich) are made of!
