If you haven’t heard of Ellio’s, then you haven’t enjoyed frozen pizza.
Luckily, I live in an area where Ellio’s is basically a household staple (it’s definitely the frozen pizza of preference around these parts), so I have enjoyed it my entire life. In fact, both W and I remember how Ellio’s pizza was the only pizza served in our parochial high schools (on Fridays, if I recall correctly).
Ellio’s isn’t just nostalgic for us, or just delicious. It’s made with 100% real cheese, the sauce is made from vine-ripened tomatoes, has fresh-rolled crust, and — our favorite — comes in a rectangular shape.
Ellio’s pizza comes in several varieties — including cheese, extra cheese, five-cheese, pepperoni, sausage and pepperoni, and supreme — so there is a fine variety of pizza choices for everyone in the house. We get them all…plus it’s nice to know that I can get them in a 9-slice box or 27-slice package. Nine slices don’t last long, especially with teenagers in the house!
Sometimes we like to kick up our Ellio’s pizza a notch or two (not that it needs it!), with extra cheese, or extra pepperoni…but no matter how we eat our Ellio’s, we love it! In fact, W generally cuts our Ellio’s pizza slices into smaller slices, so it’s like we’re eating finger foods — and I don’t feel guilty eating so many pieces!
We decided to indulge in some sausage and pepperoni Ellio’s…and, boy, does it go quick in this house! About three minutes later, the plate looked like this:
As you can see, we’re not shy when it comes to Ellio’s! And, once you give it a try (if you haven’t already) you won’t be, either!
