Livrada: Review (& 50 Shades of Grey for YOU!)

You probably know someone with a Kindle, a Nook, or an iPad (or another type of tablet that serves as an eReader). More likely, you probably know quite a few people who own an eReader…and you may even own one yourself.

We know how convenient eReaders are…but how do you shop for the person with an eReader? There are so many platforms, of course, so you have to know exactly what the individual on your gift list has. Of course, you could always e-mail them a gift certificate. That reeks of thoughtfulness and personal touch, right? Wrong.

What if you could still buy “books” for people who have eReaders?

With Livrada, you can. Livrada focuses on the book, not the eReader of the platform. You can purchase title-specific e-book gift cards in retail stores and give them as gifts (or use them yourself, naturally), allowing you a little more “flair,” shall we say, in your presentation. The gift card is actually the cover of the book, so it looks great, rather than just the look of a generic gift card. When you or the recipient of your thoughtful gift are ready to redeem your Livrada e-book gift card, it couldn’t be much simpler. The instructions (which are short and sweet, trust me) are on the back of the card. Just go to the Livrada website, enter the PIN from the back of your gift card and your e-mail address, and choose your device (Kindle or Nook). You will then be shown the cover of your e-book, at which time you click “Redeem your e-book.” For those with a Kindle device, you will be redirected to Amazon, where you will have to enter your password and click the “Accept Kindle gift” button. If you have a Nook, you will be redirected to Barnes & Noble, where you will enter your password, then click the “Accept gift” button. Your book will then automatically download.

I think Livrada e-book gift cards could be a game-changer. Unfortunately, books as we used to know them (I hate saying that) are on the decline. But, with Livrada, we don’t have to miss out entirely on the book experience. You can still feel like you’re giving (or getting) a real book, even though you’re going to be reading it on your eReader.
