Guess who recently visited me?
The Fairy Hobmother!
Man, oh man, his visit couldn’t have come at a better time, let me tell you. I’d noticed that he had visited some fellow bloggers and, I have to say, I was really hoping he’d do a pop-in. And pop in he did, bless his little fairy heart!
I would say it’s been a rough month, but it’s actually been a rough year so far. I’ve been sick, sick, sick. And then I had surgery, and then five days later, I had to have emergency surgery (I’ll tell you all about this in another fascinating post) that had me in the hospital for several days.
And, in a few days, I’ll be having yet another operation, this time on my shoulder, to repair torn cartilage (in two places, yay!). I also have tendinitis, bursitis, and a slight dislocation, so hopefully the surgeon can alleviate some of those issues as well. *fingers crossed*
But back to the Fairy Hobmother. The Fairy Hobmother happens to be a little angel from Appliances Online, spreading goodwill and good fortune around the world. Of course, I could actually use a new oven (which is falling apart as we speak), and a new dishwasher (which is so darn old it’s silly), and a bigger, better fridge that looks like it is from this millenium…but at the moment, all those things are on the back burner. I’ve got more pressing issues right now. Somehow, the Fairy Hobmother heard about me and found out I’ve been (and still am) sick and guess what? A few days ago, I received an e-mail from him and he told me he was going to send me an Amazon gift card to help me out.
Well, help out it did indeed…since my arm will be completely immobilized (in a sling for about three to four weeks following surgery), I needed to figure out how I could keep up my blogging and e-mailing and Facebooking and all that “stuff” while I was sick (OK, OK, recovering). I decided I would need some dictation software so I could write without actually typing one-handed but, oof, dictation software is ex-pen-sive! But with that timely visit (and the wonderful gift of an Amazon gift card) from the Fairy Hobmother, it softened the blow significantly. I can’t tell you how helpful that was!
I can’t thank the Fairy Hobmother enough for helping me out in a time of need. And what he really wants is to help more people! That’s my kind of Fairy Hobmother. If you are a blogger, you might want to consider leaving a comment because you just might get a visit (and perhaps an Amazon gift card) from the Fairy Hobmother himself!
If you’d like to follow the Fairy Hobmother on Twitter, let him know where you heard about him! (Hint: Right here!)
I was not compensated for writing this post. The Fairy Hobmother (bless his little heart) provided me an Amazon gift card as a gift. My opinions are 100% mine and 100% honest.

I’d love to “meet” this Fairy Hobmother! Sounds like a great guy
