Let me tell you about the awesomeness that is Mohawk Home. Well, first, let me let Mohawk Home tell you about how awesome they are.

So, Mohawk Home is the largest manufacturer of area rugs, indoor and outdoor mats, and washable rugs in the United States. That’s pretty cool. In addition, Mohawk Home recycles one out of every five PET plastic bottles recycled in the United States. What that means in practical terms is that more than 3 billion bottles are recycled annually to produce recycled fibers for Mohawk Home.

It doesn’t end there, folks. In 2009, Mohawk Home diverted more than 18 million pounds of rubber tires (one of the largest and most hazardous types of post-consumer waste) from landfills and brought them into people’s homes as designer doormats. What that means in practical terms is that the rubber in Mohawk Home designer doormats represents the number of tires that would outfit 225,000 cars. The mat face or image area is also stamped with 100% recycled flocking.

For my house, the addition of a Mohawk Home rug was absolutely perfect. I have light green rugs and while they’re not old, they’re not brand new, either. I also have gold-colored walls (it’s subtle, trust me). And, as you can see, gold-colored furniture. (W says being in our living room is like being draped in an Italian flag. To me, that means one thing: Success!)

"Mohawk Area Rug"

My living room is pretty small (way too small, but that’s another post) so it’s actually kinda hard to get a picture that gives a real “feel” for what this rug (and the room) looks like. Anywho, given the colors involved, we wanted something that would fit with that scheme as well as give the room a new look, if you will.

So, after hours of searching through the seemingly endless selection of rugs, I (OK, we) chose the Mohawk Select Versailles Sir Charles Beige Oriental Rug. And this is our new “look”:

"Mohawk Home Area Rug"

We love this rug. Everyone who has been in our house loves this rug. It’s beautiful, it’s well-made (exquisitely made, actually), and it’s so soft. I want to cover my whole house in Mohawk rugs so I can walk around barefoot and feel my toes wiggling in the plushness of the rug. On a side note, folks, this was taken from the doorway (are you getting an idea of how small this living room is?)…and some helicopters blew in when I took the picture, as you can see on the right side of the picture. Don’t judge me.

Do you see the edging on this rug? It’s a fine piece of handiwork, folks. It’s thick and (again) well-made, so I know the durability of this Mohawk rug means it’s going to last a nice, long time. We couldn’t be happier, all the way around. Seriously.

Mohawk Home offers area and accent rugs, indoor and outdoor rugs, kitchen and bath rugs, door mats, as well as rug padding. And, their selection is insane. You will spend hours looking through all the rugs they have to offer…they have every possible style that could suit even the pickiest shopper. Truly.

I was not compensated for writing this review. Mohawk Home provided product for review. My opinions are 100% honest and 100% mine.
