The Dancing With the Stars Results Show opened with a Motown medley that, um, was kinda crappy. Whoa. We’re moving right to results. Giddy up.
- Jaleel & Kym: SAFE!!! Woo hoo! (yes, I love Jaleel)
- Maria & Derek: In jeopardy. What.
- William & Cheryl: Safe. Uh, duh. Did you see those hip movements? I mean, REALLY.
- Melissa & Maks: In jeopardy. Hmm.
Dancing With the Stars then did its AT&T Spotlight Performance (which is going to make me cry, I’m sure.) The spotlight was on 17-year-old Michaela DePrince, who was born in Sierra Leone, West Africa. Her mother starved to death and her father was shot. Because Michaela has vitiligo, she was shunned, considered “the devil’s child.” When she was adopted by an American family, she had Hepatitis A and mono upon her arrival in the United States. Michaela has been training at the American Ballet Theatre.
Michaela then danced to “Wild Horses,” which was performed by Natasha Bedingfield. It was one of those moments that just…moves you.
Next was the Macy’s Stars of Dance performance and it was incredible. Really breathtaking.
Yay! More results. Crap. No, it’s not…it’s a performance by Boyz II Men. I confess, I thought they were the s#!$ in the early ’90s, at the height of their popularity but, come on. This style of music is just, I don’t know, played out.
OK, results time.
- Katherine & Mark: Safe!
- Gladys & Tristan: In jeopardy. *sad face*
- Donald & Peta: Safe!
- Roshon & Chelsie: In jeopardy.
OK, time to find out who is in the Dancing With the Stars Dance Duel. Melissa & Maks were declared safe. Gladys & Tristan were informed they were in the Bottom 2. Who will join them in the Dance Duel? Not Maria & Derek, who were declared safe. So, it’s Roshon & Chelsie vs. Gladys & Tristan. Oh boy. This week’s dance is the jive.
I hate watching this because I’m pretty sure that Gladys is going home…and Roshon Fagan must feel like a heel, being semi-responsible for sending home the Gladys Knight. I also feel bad that she will probably be going home during Motown Week. In all fairness, Gladys is not a strong dancer and Roshon was ridiculously good, with moves that were sharp and tight.
That being said….Carrie Ann saved Gladys & Tristan! Len then saved Roshon & Chelsie. So, Bruno, as the tie-breaker (he must have been thrilled with that responsibility), saved Roshon & Chelsie. Seriously, Carrie Ann must have done that as a goodwill gesture. Right?
I don’t know if Roshon Fagan will be around on Dancing With the Stars much longer, though…he just doesn’t seem to have won people over. We’ll see what happens next week.
