This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Are you a Walgreens customer? Do you have Express Scripts coverage for prescriptions?
As you may have heard, Walgreens is no longer part of the Express Scripts’ pharmacy provider network (as of January 1, 2012) because the contract between Walgreens and Express Scripts expired December 31, 2011. If you’re covered by Express Scripts and a regular Walgreens customer, you’re probably wondering where that leaves you. (Please keep in mind that this affects only certain prescription plans that are managed by Express Scripts — if your prescription card has Express Scripts’ name on there, you may be affected…but if your card does NOT say Express Scripts, you are not affected.) Will you have to do your shopping at Walgreens (Walgreens customers love Walgreens for more than the convenience of getting their prescriptions filled, of course!) and then go to another pharmacy for your prescriptions?
Not necessarily.
You might be trying to figure out where you should get your prescriptions filled to use your in-network pharmacy benefits. THe process of choosing a new pharmacy to handle your prescription needs is not an insignficant task, mind you. It means finding a pharmacy that is conveniently located, with hours that fit your schedule. Not to mention how it’s something of a trial-and-error experiment — what if you don’t like the service at the pharmacy you pick? What if they take forever to fill your prescriptions? And, more important, what if the new pharmacy just isn’t the right “fit”? That’s nothing to scoff at.
People tend to develop a relationship with their pharmacy and the pharmacy staff. They discuss private health issues with them, after all, and they entrust them with a vital aspect of their health care…and the health care of their family. That’s why pharmacies have loyal customers. People generally do not just go from pharmacy to pharmacy to get their medications.
That’s why Walgreens customers who are Express Scripts patients are faced with a dilemma. But Walgreens has a solution for those loyal customers.
Those customers can get a huge discount on its Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens throughout the month of January. Individuals can join the yearly plan for $5. and families can join for $10! That’s an incredible discount off its regular prices of $20 (for an individual) and $35 (for family plans). As a member of the Prescription Savings Club, you will receive savings on more than 8,000 brand name prescriptions and all generics. More than 400 generic drugs are availablewith a 90-day supply for less than $1 a week.
Membership in the Prescription Savings Club will also get your discounts on flu shots, pet prescriptions (yay!), nebulizers, and diabetic supplies. You will also receive bonuses when you purchase Walgreens products and Walgreens photofinishing services.
