This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of NETFLIX. My opinions about NETFLIX Kids are 100% honest and 100% mine.
Netflix is great, for a bunch of reasons. But I just happened upon possibly the best one: Netflix Kids. Anyone with little kids knows that they pretty much (and by pretty much, I mean always) want to watch cartoons or kids movies all day long. Like All. Day. Long. (and all night long) So, either you relinquish control of your TV or you feel like a total party pooper and claim your place as master of the remote, and the entertainment. That’s one way to go.
Or, you could watch the same cartoons over and over again, with no control of the programming…and find yourself humming the theme songs of the same old tired cartoons (and movies) while you’re in the shower, standing in line at Starbucks (that’s super cool!), and waiting to check out at the grocery store. Sure, that’s another option.
The short answer? No. You cannot. Which is why I was psyched to see that he’s going to be in yet another movie, due out November 22, called Delivery Man.
The basic premise? A “mix-up” at a fertility clinic has led to Vince Vaughn’s character being the father of…533 children. And they’re suing to find out his identity. Oops. If the clip is any indication of the rest of the movie, count me in!
If dogs could talk, what do you think they would say? Well, in this very amusing new ad for Dogswell Jerky Bars, we get to find out what’s really on Fido’s mind.
Dogswell is a premium brand of pet food and treats — and they’re launching improved recipes and fresh, vibrant packaging for their complete line of Jerky Bars. The new Jerky Bars contain more protein and feature real food ingredients that pet parents can see. The breakdown couldn’t be simpler: 85% protein, 15% fruits & veggies and 0% bad stuff.

Did you know that Mohawk is the world’s biggest manufacturer of flooring? Me neither.
That might have something to do with how incredibly awesome they are, not to mention their stain resistant carpet. Like the Mohawk SmartStrand Silk carpet. I had the opportunity to meet up with the incredibly awesome folks from Mohawk at the Philadelphia Italian Market Festival (woo hoo!) — since Philadelphia was one of the stops on their License to Spill tour — and see just how this stain resistant product works. First of all…look at the colors the SmartStrand comes in:
Gorgeous, right? I know! But that’s nothing…compared to the actual performance of the Mohawk SmartStrand carpet. Take a peek at what I witnessed:
I’m not sure what to really talk about here. How awesome Motley Crue was, or how much I am in love with the Sands Event Center. Luckily, I was provided the opportunity to review both, courtesy of the Sands Event Center.
At first, we were a little “surprised,” shall I say, about the size of the venue. It’s not huge or overwhelming, ya know, like your typical venue…the type where you feel like you need binoculars to see the performers.
Or, rather, it’s gonna be awesome. Like AWESOME awesome.
I am a huge Motley Crue fan, and saw them at Ozzfest several years ago, for the first time EVER. Awesome. Then, I saw the Motley Crue tour the following year, with Poison opening for them. Awesome. And, now…I am going to catch the Motley Crue tour yet again…at the Sands Event Center in Bethlehem. Giddy up, partner. It’s gonna be a wild, wild ride. It always is.
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of the American Cancer Society. All thoughts and opinions are 100% mine…and I am honored to be a part of spreading this important message!
This week, the American Cancer Society will turn 100. They’re celebrating it in grand fashion, by celebrating their efforts to educate, raise awareness, as well as continue their efforts in research and hard work to eradicate this awful disease. One hundred years ago, 15 doctors and business leaders wanted to raise awareness of cancer in 1913, kickstarting the amazing — and vital – American Cancer Society, which has grown into the world’s leader in the fight to end cancer. And, of course, part of their 100th birthday extravaganza is celebrating the survivors of cancer. Like this guy:
One of those is my 19-year-old son, who had cancer at the age of two. Two. He suffered from an often-fatal cancer of the nervous system, called neuroblastoma. It was, as you can imagine, a terrible, devastating, frightening, sad (I can go on for days) period in our lives. Luckily — and I do mean luckily in the strongest sense — my son made it through with flying colors. He never suffered a relapse, for which we were very lucky. This post brought to you by CB2. All opinions are 100% mine.
It’s your space — and you can make it fun or relaxing or exciting — but, above all else, your space should be you. Uniquely and distinctively you. And a great way you can do that is with some very unique and distinctive pieces from the new CB2 and Novogratz Collection, courtesy of the husband and wife design duo, Robert and Cortney Novogratz. You may know the Novogratzes from their popular TV home design shows, where they showcase their very distinctive designing flair. It’s a playful collection, one that cleverly mixes modern styles with a vintage flair that is fresh and unpredictable.
Their latest collection, which was inspired by their Brazil vacation home, debuted in early May. It features gorgeous, bold colors and warm wood. The CB2 and Novogratz collection features a stunning variety of items that cover a wide range of tastes and price points. Take, for example, the Tudo Bem Pink Neon Light featured above. Such a fun, whimsical piece! I love that light (it doesn’t hurt that I love whimsical, as well as pink.)
Look at all those vibrant pops of color; they’re so bold and distinctive (and different), yet they all go together to create a unique, exotic feel that makes your outdoor space downright stunning and appealing. And the Rouge Coffee Table? Love it! That is totally my taste. The color, the design, the whole she-bang. Heck, if it looked like that outdoors at my house, I would never want to be indoors.
But besides that — as if that weren’t enough! — CB2 and Novogratz are giving away the trip of a lifetime. You and three friends can win a one-week stay in the vacation home of Bob and Courtney Novogratz in Trancoso, Brazil! Ten other winners will receive a $100 CB2 Gift Card as well as a signed copy of Home by Novogratz. Make sure you get your entries in for the CB2 and Novogratz Brasil Sweepstakes by June 2!
You can follow CB2 on Twitter, Pinterest, and Facebook to stay updated on their giveaway, as well as their superb collection of home decor!
With the news of the Angelina Jolie double mastectomy due to her high risk of developing breast cancer (she reportedly had an 87% risk, following genetic testing for the breast cancer gene, BRCA), there is a whole lot of talk about breast cancer facts — the gene, genetic testing, risk, prevention, treatment, and so on. Which, all in all, is a good thing.
But before you rush to get tested for the breast cancer gene or, rather the genetic mutation, you should discuss it at length with your doctor to see if it’s appropriate for you. Sure it’s just a blood test…but it’s an expensive one (to the tune of about $3,000) and it’s not often covered by health insurance. (You can check out the National Cancer Institute for more information on BRCA testing and your risk of cancer.)
We’ve been bombarded with news and talk of breast cancer over the last 24 hours or so…and it’s normal to be concerned about your risk. Cancer — of any kind — is scary. And rightly so. I admit, that upon hearing report after report of the Angelina Jolie mastectomy, I started wondering if I should have genetic testing done. That’s right. In less than 24 hours, I was already worried that I might be in the high risk category for breast cancer. For no apparent reason, mind you, but because it was all I’d heard, no matter what channel I turned on. Which is why I dialed back the paranoia and decided to educate myself a little more about breast cancer facts.
I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Dunkin’ Donuts. I received a Dunkin’ Donuts Party Kit to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating. My opinions about Dunkin Donuts Seasonal Coffee are 100% honest and 100% mine.
It’s no secret that I am a Dunkin Donuts fan. Around these parts, Dunkin Donuts is king. We buy it regularly by the cup, by the K-Cup, by the bag, you name it. So, when I got a chance to host a party to try out the Dunkin Donuts Seasonal Coffee, I jumped at the chance. There are three new seasonal flavors: Coconut, Triple Berry, and Strawberry Shortcake.
Now, what better way to celebrate the end of the work week than with a little Dunkin Donuts office party? That’s what I’m talking about! At my mom’s office, Friday is casual day, as far as the dress code is concerned…but we kicked it up a notch (or three) with some Dunkin Donuts Seasonal Coffee and some yummy treats!
Let’s be friends…
